The Definition Of Insanity

Is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Is NY too far gone, politically, to be able to see that instituting a millionaire's tax is only going to force companies to move out of the state, and causing more unemployment?

I never went to school for accounting, but even I can see what this tax will further do to an already crippled economy.

  1. Very similar to a plan here to impose on mining companies a 40% 'profit' tax. I'm just waiting for the mining companies to up stumps and move to other countries and then see how unemployment fares.

  2. Yes, they ARE too blind to see reality. It's a normal human condition, and only truly dangerous when the mentally/morally blind gain power over others.

California did it. The rich left the state in droves. NY apparently wants to make the same mistake.

Apparently they're also too dumb to realize that rich folks moving out of state will mean those folks no longer pay ANY state taxes and total tax revenue goes down.

This is really elementary stuff, but as carteach said, they're too damn blind to see reality.
